Season 4 of The Good Wife Synopsis (iTunes)

The fourth season of the drama finds most of its characters in hot water as Lockhart/Gardner attempts to avoid liquidation in bankruptcy court. Kalinda’s estranged husband becomes of the firm’s newest client, and starts to throw Kalinda off her game just as Will finally returns to work. Alicia must defend Zach in court after he videotapes a cop who pulls him over for a drug search. She also finds herself in familiar territory when a campaign worker says she slept with Peter just as he gears up his campaign for the Illinois governorship. Peter’s campaign is compromised even further after Alicia befriends a feminist financier who then decides to run against Peter.

Guest stars this season include Nathan Lane, Rita Wilson, Amanda Peet, and Kristin Chenoweth.

The Episode: “Alienation of Affection”

If you’ll remember, Diane Lockhart (Christine Baranski) has her way with all the men in this episode. The firm is threatening to implode, thanks in no small part to Will’s indictment, and a new guy, also in the legal biz, begins making a full-court press for a date. What Baranski is most proud of is that none of the attention — neither from the scheming partners nor the charming Aussie — reduces Diane to anything less than the formidable woman she is.

Sad news: Kristin Chenoweth is leaving

Kristin Chenoweth has decided not to return to 'The Good Wife' after being a month recovering from the injuries she suffered on the set.

In July, the 44-year-old actress was on the Brooklyn set of 'The Good Wife' when she was struck by a piece of lighting equipment.

She was rushed to a New York area hospital after collapsing and has been recovering at home since then. But despite effort to recover, she unfortunately is too ill to return to the show.

“It is with deep regret to inform everyone that due to my injuries, I am unable to return to 'The Good Wife',” Kristin told People magazine. “[I'm] getting better slowly, and thank you everyone for your concern.”

Kristin had been cast in a recurring role as a "top-of-her-game" political reporter who "matches wits" with the show's central couple, Alicia Florrick and her husband, Peter Florrick (Chris Noth), who is running for political office.

She will appear on the season premiere of 'The Good Wife' that will air in September 30.

Producers have welcomed her to come back to the show in the future.
